Mechanical Assembler – 1st & 2nd Shift

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI

Pay: $22–$26 per hour

Shifts:

1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

2nd Shift: 1:00 PM–9:00 PM


Mechanical Assembler I

Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembler I is responsible for producing and assembling machines and machine components according to specifications, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality throughout the process.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Read and follow entry-level blueprints, shop orders, and specifications to accurately assemble parts and equipment.
  • Measure parts using scales, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Utilize overhead cranes and proper rigging procedures.
  • Operate material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Travel to client locations for on-site mechanical equipment assembly (company-paid travel).

Occasional Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts for painting.
  • Participate in department clean-up and improvement initiatives.


Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric conversions.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing instructions preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw, and grinder.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to proactively develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to navigate CAD documents preferred.
  • Experience operating material-handling equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical systems, and pneumatics is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred.


Physical Requirements

Protective Clothing Required

Safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, and safety shoes are required while performing job duties.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally: Sit, climb/balance, reach above shoulders, use foot/feet to operate machinery, lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Regularly: Talk, listen, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently: Stand, walk, use hands to handle or manipulate parts, lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Vision Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Tools & Equipment Utilized

Hand tools, portable power tools, measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators), overhead cranes, forklifts, stationary power tools (lathe, band saw, grinder, tap & die equipment), and a computer.


Work Environment

  • Factory environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to heights, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Noise levels range from loud to very loud depending on equipment.
  • Occasional company travel required.
