Futuro Media a Latina-led, independent nonprofit newsroom producing Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism and original, dual-language storytelling across audio, video, and digital platforms, reaching over 15 million people annually. Founded in 2010 in Harlem, NYC, by acclaimed journalist Maria Hinojosa, Futuro Media produces the Peabody Award-winning Latino USA, the longest-running public radio Latino news and cultural program, which celebrated 30 years on the air in 2023, Futuro Studios, focused on original podcasts and programming including Pulitzer Prize-winning podcast Suave, and acclaimed podcasts including La Brega, Anything for Selena, LOUD: The History of Reggaeton, My Divo, and Chess Piece: The Elian Gonzalez Story, and our IRE and Murrow award-winning Futuro Investigates, our investigative journalism arm that produced the USA v. JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Futuro Media Group seeks a Development Officer who will help manage and execute the Development team’s fundraising efforts and maintain a growing portfolio of individual donors. The Development Officer will help conceive and implement fundraising drives and campaigns, research and prioritize new institutional and individual prospects, and assist with maintaining and developing internal management systems. The Development Officer will help with new projects as they arise. This is a full-time position that reports to the Vice President of Development.
We are looking for a true team player: someone who is energetic and enterprising and is capable of strategic thinking and planning. The ideal candidate can roll up their sleeves and do project management-type tasks while working in conjunction with Futuro Media’s leadership to identify, contact and cultivate new donors. The ideal candidate works collaboratively and helpfully within the development team and across departments. Ultimately, we welcome candidates who wish to work hard with us for an excellent mission, who would enjoy being an integral member of a key operation within an acclaimed, award-winning news media and original storytelling organization.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $70K - $85K, as well as benefits, a generous time off policy and professional development support.
