This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the accurate accumulation, recording, and analysis of financial transactions, with a strong emphasis on property accounting and capital asset management.You will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals, including workforce planning and career development initiativesEnsure team accountability for delivering work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal control requirementsOversee the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and accounting transactionsPartner with internal stakeholders to establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with FERC and GAAP accounting standardsSupport the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial reporting and insights to leadershipLead and execute complex accounting projects and process improvement initiativesCommunicate financial results, analyses, and recommendations to senior leadershipProperty Accounting & Capital Management FocusOversee and support property accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and asset retirement obligationsEnsure accurate accounting for fixed assets and property transactions, including acquisitions, additions, transfers, retirements, and disposalsSupport capital project accounting and related financial reportingPartner with business leaders on divestitures, asset impairments, and valuation assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standardsDrive improvements to processes, controls, and systems supporting property accounting and capital managementAssist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to fixed assets and capital expendituresQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to fixed assets or property accountingStrong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controlsPreferred:Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Experience with property accounting, financial reporting, capital project accounting, or asset management environmentsPrior experience leading or supervising a teamSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesEffective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearlyProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), Oracle, and other financial systemsWilliams is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
