Systems Engineer / Platform Engineer/ Windows EngineerImmediate need for a Systems Engineer / Platform Engineer/ Windows Engineer. This is a 06 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Chicago IL/ Plano TX/Richmond VA/Mclean VA (Hybrid).Pay Range: $60 - $70 /hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key Requirements and Technology Experience:Key skills: System/Platform Engineering, Storage Technologies, Clustered File Systems, Shell/PythonPerform application mapping to identify dependencies across platforms, storage, and operating systemsManage and support OS-level storage across:VMware ESXiWindowsUnix / Linux environmentsConfigure, monitor, and troubleshoot storage technologies and objectsWork with clustered file systems and shared storage including:NASNFSSMB mountsEnsure storage performance, capacity planning, and availability for business-critical applicationsDevelop and maintain automation scripts using:Shell scriptingPythonGenerate operational reports, dashboards, and tracking documents using:Client SheetsMicrosoft ExcelCollaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support platform stability and auditsDocument architecture, mappings, procedures, and operational runbooksStrong experience in platform-specific roles with application mappingHands-on expertise with VMware ESXi, Windows, Unix, and Linux storageSolid understanding of enterprise storage technologies and objectsExperience with clustered and shared file systems (NAS, NFS, SMB)Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python for automationStrong data handling and reporting skills using Excel and Client SheetsAbility to work in complex, regulated enterprise environmentsExposure to large-scale enterprise platforms and regulated environmentsStrong documentation and stakeholder communication skillsOur client is a leading Banking and financial Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
