This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, hands-on engineering, and collaboration within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products and automation systemsDevelop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designsGenerate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrationsPerform engineering calculations to support design developmentCreate and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD softwareCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturingWork closely with vendors and contractors to support design execution and implementationMaintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle to track development and design changesEnsure project timelines are met and projects remain within budgetRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent practical experienceApproximately 10 years of mechanical design experienceProficiency in CATIA CAD software (required)Tooling experience requiredStrong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processesExperience designing mechanical systems within automation or general assembly environmentsPreferred Industry ExperienceAutomotive industry experience (Honda or similar OEMs preferred)Experience with general assembly or industrial automation systemsEngagement Details: Project could extend past original end date. First install targeted for late December, with additional installs continuing into Jan/Feb. 40–45 hours/week standard, with OT ranging up to 50–55 hours/week.
