Accounting Manager-ConsultantType: ContractLocation: Gaithersburg, MDSchedule: Fully OnsiteCompensation: $40-50hrHours: 9am-5pmBenefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)About the OpportunityWe're partnering with a client seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a temporary engagement supporting audit and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of accounting experience, strong reconciliation expertise, audit support experience, and advanced Excel skills. CPA and Dynamics GP experience are a plus. This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact while working alongside a collaborative accounting leadership teamKey ResponsibilitiesSupport audit and year-end close processes in partnership with accounting leadershipAssist with external audit requests, including gathering samples and supporting documentation.Review workpapers for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.Coordinate audit support requests and ensure timely delivery of required information.Prepare and support year-end journal entries and related schedules.Assist in executing the year-end close calendar and meeting critical deadlines.Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including:Fixed AssetsAccounts ReceivableDeferred RevenueAccrualsInvestigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed.Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Experience supporting external audits.Strong hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations.Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.PreferredCPA designation.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP systems.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
