Development EngineerLocation: Westminster, MD Pay: $85,000–$95,000 annually Job Type: Direct Hire Work Environment: OnsitePosition OverviewM Force Partners is seeking an innovative Development Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Westminster, MD. This Development Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and qualification of advanced battery products from concept through production while collaborating with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.The ideal Development Engineer has experience in product development, research and development (R&D), prototype testing, and new product introduction. This role is perfect for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing new technologies, and bringing innovative products to market.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, qualify, and support production of battery products and emerging technologiesLead product development activities from concept through production launchDevelop prototypes and support testing, validation, and qualification activitiesCollaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure products meet customer requirements, quality standards, project schedules, and cost objectivesResearch new materials, components, manufacturing methods, and assembly techniquesPlan, develop, and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to support product development and testingDevelop pilot-scale manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methodsCoordinate engineering builds, prototype evaluations, and product development trialsAnalyze engineering test results and prepare technical reports with conclusions and recommendationsPresent design reviews and technical updates to internal teams and customersDevelop engineering documentation including assembly specifications, process specifications, manufacturing documentation, and technical reportsSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities and transition products into productionPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and process issuesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality, manufacturability, and reliabilitySupport additional engineering projects as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related Engineering or Science discipline3–5 years of experience in Product Development, Research & Development (R&D), or Engineering DesignExperience designing, building, and testing engineering prototypesKnowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE)Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneouslyProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsSelf-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience developing battery systems or energy storage productsKnowledge of lithium-ion or rechargeable battery technologiesExperience with battery testing, validation, and qualificationExperience developing manufacturing processes and pilot production methodsExperience supporting products from concept through production launchExperience working in an advanced manufacturing or R&D environmentAdditional RequirementsMust be a U.S. CitizenAbility to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen, if requiredAbility to work onsite in Westminster, MDJob presented by M Force PartnersM Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
