Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Project OverviewThe project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure.The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.Job SummaryProvides overall field leadership, coordination, and execution oversight for all mechanical construction activities including underground piping, above ground piping, rotating equipment installation, tanks, balance of plant systems, welding, and auxiliary mechanical systems. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and interface management across multiple simultaneous work fronts. Leads Mechanical Supervisors and/or Craft Professionals, and coordinates closely with Field Engineering, QA/QC, Logistics, Vendor Representatives, and Commissioning teams to achieve project milestones and turnover requirements.Major ResponsibilitiesLeadership / SupervisionSupervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.Planning / ProductivityDetermines workforce requirements.Coordinates established area operational plans.Tools, Materials & EquipmentMonitors tool and equipment usage on the site.Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.Safety & QualityEnsures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.Education and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and SkillsLarge EPC industrial or power project construction experienceStrong knowledge of mechanical construction means and methodsExperience with piping systems, rotating equipment, and static equipment installationExperience with gas turbine and power generation equipment installation preferredStrong understanding of construction sequencing and workface planningExperience managing subcontractors, direct hire crews, and vendor interfacesKnowledge of welding, NDE, pressure testing, and turnover requirementsStrong leadership, communication, and coordination skillsAbility to drive safety, quality, and productivity performanceExperience coordinating with engineering, logistics, and commissioning teamsFamiliarity with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and turnover planning preferredTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
