Mechanical EngineerHII's Mission Technologies division has an immediate opportunity available for a Full-Time Mechanical Engineer. Will provide direct support within DLA Research and Development (R&D). This position may be near Fort Belvoir, VA, or remote. Support the Defense Logistics Innovation Research and Military Unique Sustainment Technology R&D Programs for the Defense Logistics Agency. Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines. Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers, and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise. Advises program managers on challenging technical issues, coordinates the use of senior technical resources across the program on multi-disciplinary problems. Works with senior technical project members to periodically review technical plans, results, and work products. Apply technology and program expertise to support various DLA R&D Program initiatives and projects.Come support our work and join a high-performing team of scientists and engineers!Essential Job Responsibilities:Researches, plans, designs, verifies, and validates mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.Researches, plans, designs, verifies, and validates materials technologies; data and information systems and processes; and manufacturing technologies and methods.Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.May be responsible for assisting with the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.Minimum Qualifications:0 years experience with Bachelors in related field. Preferred: 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field or 0 years experience with Masters in related field.Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearanceProficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).Excellent customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience supporting multiple projects/priorities preferredAdequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline.The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities.
