Work Environment

This position is based onsite in beautiful Fairfield, Connecticut, within a skilled and supportive team environment. You will be working directly with patients in their homes and within clinic facilities, delivering care that is sensitive to cultural, age-related, and individual patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and limitations, tailoring treatment plans to address functional deficits.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation exercises to help patients regain mobility and strength.
• Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient management and continuous support throughout their treatment journey.
• Consistently monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment plans as necessary to maximize recovery rates and functional outcomes.
• Educating patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercises, and strategies to manage pain effectively.
• Documenting patient evaluations and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with legal and insurance standards.
• Engaging in community outreach and wellness programs to promote health education and the services offered by our clinic.
• Participating in professional development activities, including continuing education and in-service training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on patients experiencing orthopedic issues, such as post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. This population may include individuals of varying ages and backgrounds, and your ability to interact with all patients respectfully and empathetically is crucial.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy, demonstrating your eligibility to practice in Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic medical record systems and standard office software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on patient education and care coordination.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, particularly in a clinical setting, will be highly regarded. Familiarity with treatment modalities such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education strategies is advantageous.
