Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred by physicians to determine their physical therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices tailored to each patient's specific condition and goals.
  • Utilize a variety of modalities and interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and educational components that include home exercise programs to enhance recovery.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, ensuring a comfortable patient experience and effective communication with patients and their families.
  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role allows you to work with a diverse patient demographic, primarily focusing on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and other conditions. You may also encounter pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients, offering a wide range of experiences that contribute to professional growth and adaptation of treatment strategies to meet varied needs.

Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
  • A valid State License in Physical Therapy in New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in physical therapy, particularly within the orthopedic field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of electronic health record systems to manage patient documentation efficiently.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in home care settings or in a multidisciplinary clinical team is highly desirable.
