Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions to assess their physical abilities, limitations, and therapeutic needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and functional training.
  • Monitor patient progress, documenting treatments and outcomes meticulously in our electronic health records system to inform future therapeutic decisions.
  • Reassess patient capabilities periodically to adjust treatment strategies based on their evolving needs and goals.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, the importance of therapy, and strategies to enhance their recovery at home.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care, including referrals for additional services as necessary.
  • Engage in continuing professional development by attending workshops, obtaining certification in specialty areas, and participating in professional societies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will primarily work with adult patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and conditions such as arthritis, joint replacements, and fractures. We cater to a diverse population, emphasizing individualized care that takes into account each patient's specific needs and goals, ensuring they can return to their daily activities as seamlessly as possible.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state license for physical therapy practice in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in orthopedic physical therapy.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in both verbal and written forms.
  • Demonstrated ability to use electronic health record systems and basic office software.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of patients and the operational demands of the practice.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Kinesio taping, ultrasound therapy, and functional movement assessments.
  • Prior background in outpatient rehabilitation settings is highly desirable.
  • Experience mentoring new graduates or interns is a plus.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
