Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to evaluate their physical abilities and needs, developing customized treatment plans through evidence-based practice.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities to support pain relief and mobility enhancement.
- Document treatment plans, patient progress, and outcomes meticulously within electronic health records to ensure accurate medical histories and facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers.
- Continuously monitor and reassess patients' progress, modifying treatment plans as required to align with their evolving needs and goals.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on therapeutic exercises and assistive devices, fostering independence and self-management strategies for ongoing health maintenance.
- Engage in professional development by attending workshops, completing continuing education courses, and participating actively in relevant professional organizations.
The primary focus of this role will be on a diverse patient population that includes children and adults with a range of conditions such as post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. Our therapists employ a holistic approach, assessing not just the physical but also the emotional and social aspects of recovery.
Qualifications- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
- Must hold a valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
- Two years of experience combining clinical practice with skills in patient assessment and treatment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, ensuring clear discussions with patients and healthcare teammates.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and familiarity with modern therapy technologies.
- Experience in a rehabilitation facility or similar clinical environment is preferred, although relevant clinical internships can be considered.
- A strong foundation in manual therapy techniques and knowledge of modern rehabilitation practices will be advantageous.
- Flexibility and agility in adapting treatment plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
