Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving client mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing muscle function in compliance with physician recommendations.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patient functioning utilizing diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functionality aspirations.
- Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure effective implementation of therapeutic interventions.
- Administer a range of therapeutic exercises and modalities, including manual techniques, traction, and massage.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices to improve patient independence.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, including initial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to holistic patient care planning and execution.
- Educate patients and their families regarding rehabilitation strategies, assistive devices, and ongoing physical therapy programs.
You will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic issues, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Your therapeutic interventions will be tailored to enhance each patient's autonomy and quality of life, providing them with the tools necessary for successful rehabilitation.
Qualifications- Eligibility for state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- A current CPR certification is mandatory.
- At least two years of experience in an orthopedic therapy setting is necessary.
- Hands-on experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient patient documentation.
- Proficient in the latest physical therapy techniques and modalities tailored to orthopedic needs.
- Familiarity with creating and adapting rehabilitation plans based on clinical best practices.
