Key Responsibilities

• Direct comprehensive physical therapy treatments for patients, aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring optimal muscle function through personalized care plans.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring the accurate implementation of established treatment protocols and care plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities by utilizing diagnostic tests that assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Assess the home environment to analyze factors affecting rehabilitation and make appropriate recommendations to foster patient independence.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic modalities including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and application of physical agents.
• Evaluate, fit, and modify orthotic and prosthetic devices, collaborating with healthcare teams to recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Document patient progress meticulously through clinical records, including evaluations and ongoing treatment summaries, and communicate effectively with physicians and other team members.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to craft and update comprehensive treatment plans tailored to unique patient needs.
• Instruct patients and their families on effective use of therapy devices and compliance with physical activity programs.
• Complete on-site functional assessments and adjust care plans based on ongoing evaluations of patient performance and community resource availability.
