Work EnvironmentThis position is based onsite at our dedicated Rehabilitation Center in Austin, Texas, where our therapists collaborate closely with nursing staff, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical conditions and rehabilitation needs, using standardized evaluation tools to determine mobility levels and functional abilities.
- Design and implement customized treatment plans tailored to each resident's unique impairments, aiming to enhance physical function and alleviate discomfort.
- Deliver a range of therapeutic services, including but not limited to therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and specialized balance training to aid in restoring functionality.
- Educate residents and their caregivers on effective mobility practices, injury prevention strategies, and develop comprehensive home exercise programs that encourage continued improvement.
- Regularly monitor and document residents' progress, adapting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with a dedicated team of nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care that addresses the needs of each resident comprehensively.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous clinical records that reflect the ongoing treatment and results of each resident.
In this role, you will work primarily with elderly residents in an assisted living environment who may present with a range of conditions requiring rehabilitation services, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and age-related decline in physical function. Your expertise as a Physical Therapist will be essential in empowering these individuals to regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Qualifications- An active Physical Therapist license in the state of Texas is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees (e.g., Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master of Physical Therapy) from an accredited institution.
- Strong foundational knowledge in therapeutic techniques, with proficiency in manual therapy and rehabilitation best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a patient-centric approach in interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation practices; experience in geriatric or assisted living settings is an advantage.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist, with demonstrable expertise in geriatric care or rehabilitation services.
- Hands-on experience in assisted living or skilled nursing facility settings, providing therapy to a similar patient demographic.
- Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic areas (e.g., Geriatric Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Rehabilitation) are considered beneficial.
