Work EnvironmentOur facility features a state-of-the-art rehabilitation setting equipped with the latest technology and treatment modalities, designed to facilitate high-quality patient care. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced physical therapists, nurses, and administrative staff, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions using clinical evaluation techniques, including goniometry and strength testing.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on recovery, functional movement, and pain management tailored to each patient's specific diagnosis and needs.
- Work collaboratively with referring physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and improve patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercise programs, techniques for managing pain at home, and strategies for preventing future injuries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations, using EMR systems to streamline operations.
- Engage in continuous professional development through attending workshops and obtaining certifications relevant to orthopedic physical therapy.
- Contribute to clinic culture by fostering teamwork, supporting patient engagement initiatives, and participating in monthly team meetings to discuss case studies and share best practices.
Your role will involve working with a varied clientele, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, athletes recovering from sports injuries, and patients dealing with chronic musculoskeletal issues. The population you serve will primarily include adults, but occasionally may extend to pediatric patients as needed, allowing for a dynamic and rewarding practice. Understanding the diverse backgrounds and specific challenges faced by each patient will be key to delivering effective therapy.
Qualifications- Must hold a current license to practice physical therapy in Texas or be eligible for licensure.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred, showcasing your ability to manage a wide range of clinical cases.
- Strong clinical reasoning, manual therapy skills, and the capacity to evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Diverse approaches to patient care, demonstrating a balance of independence while being an engaged team member.
- Preference for candidates with more than 2 years of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy experience.
- Board certification in Orthopedics (OCS) or willingness to pursue specialty certifications.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as WebPT or Epic, is a plus.
- Interest or experience in specialized areas like sports rehabilitation, manual therapy techniques, or functional movement assessments.
