Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to the regulations outlined in the state's practice act, ensuring compliance with all laws governing physical therapy practice and supervision of assistants.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with functional impairments and disabilities, creating tailored treatment plans based on individual needs and evaluation findings.
• Provide thorough evaluation services by reviewing medical histories, performing specialized assessments, and clearly documenting recommendations and results.
• Effectively implement treatment protocols in alignment with the patient's unique presentation and evolving healthcare standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, recognizing changes in patient conditions that necessitate modifications in care plans or the need for further consultations.
• Manage discharge planning and follow-up care, delivering accurate documentation of patient progress, evaluations, and treatment specifics, ensuring clarity throughout the care continuum.
• Participate in required corporate and clinical trainings, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Direct and supervise the treatment of patients in accordance with medical necessity and document this clearly in electronic health records.
• Engage in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions aimed at improving clinic operations and patient access.
• Actively participate in initiatives aimed at removing barriers to care and enhancing service delivery through data-informed strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on outpatient orthopedic patients who are experiencing a range of conditions requiring rehabilitative care. You will work with individuals recovering from surgical interventions, sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and more, tailoring therapeutic approaches to each patient's specific challenges and goals. Your efforts will play a crucial part in enhancing their quality of life, mobility, and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia as recognized by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is required.
• Current certification in CPR and Basic Life Support.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of outpatient orthopedic experience, candidates with advanced skills in specific treatment methodologies or specialties, such as manual therapy or sports rehabilitation, are highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is also preferred to improve documentation efficiency and patient tracking.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
