Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians, analyzing their physical abilities and limitations.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing the use of evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize various therapeutic interventions and modalities, such as manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and gait training.
  • Maintain excellent communication with patients and their families, ensuring understanding and adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular assessments and documentation, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine rehabilitation strategies and share best practices that enhance patient care.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives and educational presentations to promote physical therapy awareness and resource access.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population for this role will be adults undergoing rehabilitation for orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. You will also have an opportunity to provide care to diverse groups, ranging from geriatric patients to athletes, allowing for a broad spectrum of clinical experience.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong computer proficiency.
  • A passion for building strong relationships with patients and a commitment to helping them achieve their functional goals.
