Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough evaluations which include gathering comprehensive patient history and conducting specific assessments to formulate personalized treatment plans.
  • Communicate evaluation outcomes and treatment strategies effectively to patients and families, actively involving them in goal-setting to encourage engagement in the recovery process.
  • Implement evidence-based treatment protocols proficiently, adapting care to meet each patient's unique presentation and responding to shifts in healthcare practices.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow healthcare professionals to address changes in patient conditions, modifying care plans as necessary, and ensuring timely medical consultations when needed.
  • Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and promptly, including detailed daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluations that track patient progress.
  • Effectively manage time to meet productivity expectations while maintaining an accurate schedule for patient appointments and administrative duties.
  • Contribute to departmental goals by participating in marketing activities and community outreach initiatives to promote rehabilitation services.
  • Embark on a path of continuous professional development through pursuing additional education and training opportunities, mentoring students, and serving as a clinical instructor.
  • Enhance patient access to care by actively engaging in initiatives to remove barriers and understanding key performance metrics related to patient experiences.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As part of our outpatient clinic, you will work with a wide range of patients, from those recovering from injuries or surgeries to individuals managing chronic conditions. Our service focus includes tailoring treatments to support optimal recovery times, improve functional abilities, and enhance patient independence.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
  • A valid DPT license in the State of Virginia must be obtained.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • While prior experience is valued, we encourage new graduates to apply as we offer a comprehensive orientation and mentorship program.
Preferred Experience

While 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred, we welcome candidates who are newly licensed and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow. A background in outpatient rehabilitation, particularly in a team-based setting, would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
