Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Rehabilitation Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians, assessing their physical condition and rehabilitation needs.
  • Designing and implementing personalized treatment programs that incorporate evidence-based practices to facilitate recovery and improve functional mobility.
  • Utilizing specialized techniques in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and other modalities to address complex orthopedic conditions.
  • Documenting patient progress meticulously and adjusting treatment plans based on their evolving needs and outcomes to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Engaging with patients and their families to educate them about treatment plans, expected outcomes, and methods for home exercise and self-management.
  • Collaborating with your team members to share insights and optimize patient outcomes through continuous improvement and adherence to best practice guidelines.
  • Maintaining clinical records and meeting business objectives for productivity and quality assurance.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve treating patients with orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and sports injuries. The diverse patient population ranges from pediatric to adult clients, providing you with a broad spectrum of cases that enrich your experience. Your work will focus on fostering meaningful relationships with patients, supporting them through their healing journey, and empowering them to reclaim their functional independence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years' clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in an orthopedic-focused environment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general office software to facilitate patient documentation and data management.
  • A passion for fostering patient relationships, coupled with the ability to inspire trust and motivation in patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, the following experiences are preferred and may enhance your application:

  • Experience with specialized treatment techniques such as Dry Needling, Graston Technique, or advanced manual therapy approaches.
  • Previous work in a multi-disciplinary team setting, showcasing your collaboration skills.
