Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and directing individualized physical therapy treatment plans that focus on preventing disability, relieving pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring function.
- Collaborating with physical therapy assistants to ensure effective application of treatment plans and supervising their work as required by state law.
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities through various assessments, including muscle, joint, and functional capacity tests.
- Evaluating patients' home environments and making recommendations to optimize recovery and independence.
- Administering therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and other treatments using physical agents as indicated by patients' care plans.
- Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, while making modifications as necessary in consultation with the supervising physician.
- Maintaining thorough clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals during interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and refine treatment approaches.
- Providing education and training to patients and their families on physical therapy techniques, home exercise programs, and the proper use of therapeutic devices.
- Completing all required documentation promptly in compliance with branch policies.
- Participating in continuous professional development and training to stay current with best practices in physical therapy.
In this role, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that affect mobility and physical function. Our clients range in age and complexity, requiring a tailored approach to rehabilitation that addresses both physical needs and emotional well-being. Your ability to build rapport and trust will be key to fostering positive patient outcomes.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
In addition to the mandatory requirements, preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex patient cases with interdisciplinary collaboration.
We offer a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 – 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
