Whole Body Orthopedic Rehab is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to join our team in Hampton, Virginia. Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial evaluations and assessments of patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, using evidence-based practices to identify individual treatment needs.
- Establish comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient, utilizing therapeutic exercises, hands-on manual therapy, and advanced modalities to alleviate pain and improve functional mobility.
- Implement and adjust treatment plans as necessary, continually monitoring progress and re-evaluating goals to ensure effective rehabilitation outcomes.
- Document all treatment sessions meticulously, including patient responses and progress notes, to maintain clear communication within the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families about self-management techniques, exercises to do at home, and the proper use of any needed assistive devices.
- Participate in professional development activities such as workshops and seminars to maintain licensure and stay updated with the latest advancements in physical therapy.
The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from major surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You'll guide patients through individualized rehabilitation journeys, equipping them with the tools and confidence to regain their mobility and independence.
Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
- A valid and current state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team professionals.
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health record management.
- A flexible and adaptable demeanor, with the ability to adjust to evolving patient needs and care environments.
- Previous work experience as a physical therapist is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain valuable experience.
- Experience with specialized orthopedic therapy techniques can be an advantage.
