Work Environment

This full-time position requires your presence onsite at our Norfolk facility, where you will work within a dynamic and interdisciplinary team that includes two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant (PTA). The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a balanced work-life dynamic. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in compliance with the prescriptions of referring physicians or other state-authorized practitioners.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations utilizing evidence-based techniques to assess patient conditions efficiently.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment programs personalized to meet the specific goals and needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on observed patient response.
  • Implement emergency protocols swiftly to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation as per departmental policies to facilitate seamless patient management.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, participating in chart reviews and collaborative discussions aimed at enhancing care standards.
  • Attend and contribute to family meetings and interdisciplinary conferences, focusing on the holistic management of assigned patients.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support clinic operations and patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will cater primarily to a diverse clientele engaged in orthopedic rehabilitation. This includes athletes in need of sports medicine and recovery techniques, post-operative patients, and individuals striving to regain mobility following injuries or chronic conditions. Your role is crucial in helping these patients not only achieve goals of mobility and functionality but also reclaim their independence, boosting their confidence and overall well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required.
  • Must hold a valid state license as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
  • No history of board actions or disciplinary actions against the license.
  • Demonstrated competency in manual therapy techniques.
  • Proficient in creating effective, individualized exercise programs for diverse patient needs.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software such as WebPT.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits
