About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Center for Journalism and Democracy. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day leadership for all Center staff, oversee the implementation of programs, and ensure the Center's activities align with its mission to support historically informed investigative reporting. This role involves strategic oversight, budget management, and the supervision of staff to fulfill the Center's goals. The Executive Director will also be responsible for fostering an inclusive team culture, developing strategic partnerships, and serving as the Center's spokesperson in various external activities. Applicants must have at least 10 years' of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of managing a team and multiple complex projects. Familiarity with journalism and investigative reporting is essential, and fundraising experience is required. The role demands a high level of organizational and communication skills, the ability to work with a diverse population, and a passion for the mission of the Center. The Executive Director will be expected to set clear, measurable goals, and ensure the Center's work is in line with the Founding Director's vision, while also being fiscally responsible. A minimum of an advanced degree and a background in a high-growth or startup environment are also necessary.
