The Palms finance team is an integral part of developing strategy for managing risk and executing strategy for growth. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Property and Casualty Insurance sector. The Accounting Manager, specializing in Statutory and Investment Accounting, is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, compliance, and accounting functions related to statutory requirements and the company's investment portfolios. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, adherence to relevant regulations, and effective management of investment accounting activities.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and SAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the CompanyPrepare and review statutory financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP) and regulatory requirements. Monitor changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments to financial reporting processes.Lead the annual external auditOversee the Investment accounting process including valuation, income recognition, and reconciliations.Maintain current knowledge and expertise related to statutory accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirementCollaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and meet business objectivesJob Overview Employees in this job manage and coordinate a unique accounting function and lead complex accounting projects.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the CompanyProvides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reportingEnsures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environmentKeeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and proceduresManages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance managementRequired QualificationsBachelor's DegreeExperience: 8+ yearsSupervisor/Management Experience: 2+ yearsPreferred QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA)Master's Degree
