Avionics TechnicianZachery Piper Solutions is seeking an Avionics Technician to support a high-visibility aerospace and defense program in Hagerstown, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering and aviation services company specializing in aircraft modifications, airborne systems testing, ISR support, and mission-critical government programs. The Avionics Technician will play a vital role in ensuring aircraft electrical and avionics systems are expertly installed, maintained, inspected, and repaired, directly contributing to flight readiness, engineering integration, and customer mission success. This position requires a Secret Clearance to be considered.Responsibilities of the Avionics Technician include:Troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulationsPerform wire harness fabrication, routing, termination, and installationConduct RF system installations, power-on checks, and aircraft power runsDiagnose and repair electrical hardware issues across multiple aircraft platformsSupport line operations, customer training aircraft, and remote field operations as neededReview and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentationPerform FAA-required inspections and maintain accurate, compliant maintenance recordsCollaborate with engineering teams on system modifications, design improvements, and integration activitiesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced techniciansSafely operate avionics test equipment, ground support equipment, and standard shop toolsQualifications for the Avionics Technician include:High School Diploma or equivalent5+ years of hands-on avionics experienceStrong understanding of FAA regulatory requirements (IPM/ATA)Proficiency with avionics tools including wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, and electrical test equipmentDeep knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systemsActive Secret ClearanceU.S. CitizenshipValid driver's license; ability to pass DOT/FAA drug screeningAbility to obtain a passport for occasional travelPreferred Qualifications:A&P CertificateExperience supporting DoD or Army aviation programsAircraft experience with Bombardier/Challenger or Beechcraft 300 platformsPMP or AMP certification (not required)Long-term employment mindset and commitment to mission successCompensation for the Avionics Technician includes:Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000Company-paid Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceCompany-paid Life, AD&D, Short- and Long-Term DisabilityOptional supplemental insurance (Aflac, Gap, TRICARE)401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off and floating holidays
