Mechanical EngineerLocation: Valencia, CAType: Full-timeSalary: $95,000-110,000Reports to: Manager of Mechanical EngineeringMechanical engineer with an emphasis on automation and industrial controls design. Works with a cross-functional engineering team including electrical, systems, software, and other mechanical engineers.Design projects including new sensor product developments, product line extensions and accessories, and automation system developments. Familiar with a variety of mechanical design engineering concepts, practices, and procedures including experience with GD&T and design for manufacturing.Responsibilities:Design of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorksDesign of mechanical fixtures or tooling incorporated into automation equipment in productionCreate detailed mechanical component and assembly drawings using SolidWorksDesign for high volume manufacturingLeverage rapid prototyping methods for early design verificationsEvaluate, select, and procure mechanical equipment and materials for prototypesCoordinate with engineering technicians for prototype assembly and testingCoordinate with production technicians for hand-off/release of production productsQualifications:Bachelor's of science degree from four-year college or university in mechanical or aerospace engineering3-5 years of related experience in mechanical design engineeringAble to apply GD&T on all mechanical designsFundamental understanding of electronics packaging and sensor (analog and digital) functionalityExperience with precision machining, product assembly, design fixtures, system and subsystem integrationExperience designing for high volume manufacturing (injection molding, die casting, extrusions, etc.)Experience taking a project from concept through productionMicrosoft Office (expert level)SolidWorks (5 years minimum)Vector Graphics Design (Adobe Illustrator Preferred)Benefits:Health insurance benefits401(k)Life insuranceFamily leave (paternal, maternal)BonusesEquity/stock optionsThree weeks paid vacationPaid sick daysFSA/HSACell phone reimbursement
