<p>We are seeking a qualified individual to lead all Histology and Anatomic Pathology laboratory operations in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing staff, workflow, quality, compliance, LIS administration, and laboratory growth initiatives while spending approximately 50% of time performing bench histology duties.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul> <li>Supervise Histology and AP laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, competency assessments, evaluations, and timekeeping.</li> <li>Perform bench histology functions including grossing, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping.</li> <li>Manage specimen accessioning, case tracking, workflow, and turnaround times.</li> <li>Coordinate daily operations with pathologists to ensure timely case sign-out and reporting.</li> <li>Administer Orchard Enterprise Pathology (OEP) LIS and maintain AP reporting templates.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with NYS CLEP, CLIA, ECLRS, and other regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Oversee reference lab send-outs, AP interfaces, and EMR integrations.</li> <li>Lead validation studies, new test implementation, quality initiatives, and future IHC expansion.</li> <li>Maintain SOPs, competency programs, equipment maintenance schedules, and vendor relationships.</li> <li>Support pathology quality meetings, proficiency testing, safety monitoring, and annual permit renewals.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul> <li>HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification required.</li> <li>Active NYS Histotechnologist or Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.</li> <li>5 years of Histology or Anatomic Pathology experience.</li> <li>Prior laboratory leadership/supervisory experience preferred.</li> <li>Experience with AP laboratory workflows, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.</li> <li>AP LIS experience (Orchard, NovaPath, Sunquest AP, Beaker AP, etc.) preferred.</li> <li>IHC experience preferred.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field preferred.</li></ul><h3>Why Join Us?</h3><ul> <li>Full ownership of Histology and AP operations within a growing multi-specialty medical group.</li> <li>Opportunity to remain hands-on while leading a department.</li> <li>High-visibility role partnering directly with pathologists and laboratory leadership.</li> <li>Growth opportunity to support new testing platforms, process improvements, and IHC expansion.</li> <li>Stable onsite leadership position with a well-established healthcare organization serving the Hudson Valley region.</li></ul><br />#INCOPandologic.
