Summary

Special Service for Groups (SSG) is a multipurpose human service nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles (www.ssg.org). Under the direction of the Development Director, the Development Coordinator will facilitate key development activities to support SSG’s divisions, including but not limited to database management, tracking & reporting various donor and donation information, donor stewardship, and supporting fundraising campaigns and events.

Essential Functions

· Maintain and manage the agency CRM - currently Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7 (RE 7) + RE NXT WebView (RE NXT)

· Maintain up-to-date, accurate donation and donor records in Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT

· Conduct ongoing quality assurance for all donation and donor records

· Routinely process gifts made via SSG’s Blackbaud RE NXT forms

· Provide customer support to donors as needed

· Manage donation/registration forms for multiple division websites and campaigns/events via Blackbaud modules, integrated applications, and external platforms, as needed

· Circulate timely and accurate donation updates for division management

· Ensure receipts, thank you letters, etc., for donations are generated in a timely manner

· Produce timely and accurate monthly reports in Excel that summarize donations received via RE NXT and other giving platforms and that assign donations to the correct divisions so that SSG fiscal can record donation revenue

· Support and facilitate the use of Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT features, including but not limited to marketing tools, to enhance donor communications and fundraising

· Manage implementation of RE NXT Donor Portal with select SSG divisions, as needed

· Manage multiple fundraising platforms for SSG, including but not limited to online auction site, third-party gift acceptance & payment systems, and crowdfunding sites

· Assist in coordinating training and provide technical assistance to other staff regarding use of Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT and other platforms as needed

· Participate in development “workgroups” for the purpose of planning, design, and implementation of fundraising and donor stewardship for select SSG divisions

· As assigned, participate in the design and execution of fundraising initiatives, including social media campaigns, special events, and annual appeals

· As assigned, generate fundraising reports for the SSG Board and/or management

· Participate in weekly development team meetings and assigned committee meetings

· Maintain and uphold Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles

· Regular attendance required

· Other duties as needed

Secondary Functions

· As assigned, work with the development team to identify and facilitate expanded application of Blackbaud RE NXT in SSG fundraising efforts

· As assigned, assist in the development of new or revised donation management and fundraising procedures to reflect the latest best practices and evolving SSG needs

· As assigned, assist in development of agency communications materials (e.g. e-newsletters)

· Overtime, holiday, or weekend work may be required

Minimum Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 2 years’ experience in directly related work and an associate’s degree

· Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based collaboration & document management platforms (e.g. Dropbox, Slack)

· Time management and organizational skills needed to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Strong customer service skills

· Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively in a team setting

· Ability to think through challenges and identify potential solutions

· Verification of Employment Eligibility

· Background Check

· Valid California driver license, proof of car insurance, and reliable transportation

Desirable qualifications

· Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7 and NXT Webview is preferred

· Experience with designing and implementing fundraising campaigns/events, is a plus

· Experience working in a human services nonprofit organization setting is preferred

· Proficiency in Canva or similar design application is a plus

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)

The environment for this position is primarily an office environment. The position may occasionally require travel to meetings in different neighborhoods across LA and exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

Important Note: This position is temporarily a hybrid position: three days on-site and two days of telecommuting. Agency policy may change at any time to require a full-time on-site schedule.

Physical Requirements: In the course of performing this job, there will be talking, listening, sitting, standing, walking, and driving required.

Mental Requirements: The incumbent in this position must be able to: handle frequent distractions & interruptions, manage uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules, relate to and communicate effectively with co-workers & donors, conceptualize, analyze information or instructions, define problems & identify solutions, complete tasks independently, and complete tasks by set deadlines.
