Resident & Resources Coordinator – Community Programs

Locations: Queens, Bronx & Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview


We are seeking a Resident & Resources Coordinator to support residents by connecting them with valuable community resources, services, activities, and programs that promote their physical, social, economic, and overall well-being.


The Resident & Resources Coordinator will work closely with the Social Services Department to develop and coordinate engaging programs and events for children, youth, adults, and seniors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with diverse communities, building relationships, coordinating events, and connecting people to resources.


The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, outgoing, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced community environment.

Important Multi-Site Requirement

People must be flexible and willing to work at different locations throughout the NYC area based on organizational needs.

While each position will have a primary/home location, employees may be asked to work at other sites when needed.

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Candidates must also be willing to work occasional Saturdays and some evenings when community events or programming require it.

The number of Saturday events may vary from month to month and cannot be predicted in advance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Social Services Department Managers and Social Workers to support programming for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
  • Identify community resources, services, and programs related to family support, education, elder care, mental health, food insecurity, workforce development, and other community needs.
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute recurring community activities, events, and social service programs.
  • Create and maintain monthly calendars of resident events, activities, and programs.
  • Track program participation and maintain accurate documentation, including attendance records.
  • Maintain relationships with existing on-site service providers and external community partners.
  • Develop relationships with local schools, businesses, social organizations, community boards, and other organizations to build a strong network of community resources.
  • Attend community events, recreational activities, community board meetings, and other gatherings to identify resources and establish relationships.
  • Assist with community outreach and promote upcoming activities and events.
  • Assist with social media content related to events, activities, and programming.
  • Help identify and develop new activities based on resident interests and community needs.
  • Manage multiple programs and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Key Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in social services, community outreach, resident services, recreation, education, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in building a meaningful career in social services and community programming.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and multiple age groups, including children, youth, adults, and seniors.
  • Strong knowledge of recreational, educational, wellness, or community-based activities.
  • Ability to identify, develop, and coordinate programs based on community needs and interests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business technology.
  • Data management and documentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work across multiple locations as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional Saturdays and evenings for community events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college education preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with community outreach, resident engagement, or event coordination.
  • Background or experience in sports, music, drama, dance, photography, crafts, sewing, or the arts is a plus.
  • Experience creating community programming or recreational activities.
  • Strong social media and community outreach skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
