Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Housekeeper / Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming campus buildings at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. In this role, you will clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, residence halls, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using professional custodial equipment and cleaning products.

Available shifts include 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM supporting residential buildings and evening shifts supporting academic and administrative buildings, with some weekend work required. Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $13.50 to $14.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

? Clean and maintain assigned campus areas, including classrooms, offices, residence halls, hallways, entrances, restrooms, and common spaces.
? Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect surfaces according to established cleaning standards.
? Restock restroom and housekeeping supplies as needed throughout the shift.
? Collect, transport, and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials safely and properly.
? Operate and maintain custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor care equipment, cleaning carts, and related housekeeping tools.
? Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, PPE, and biohazard materials when required.
? Inspect assigned areas and identify cleaning needs to ensure buildings remain clean, sanitary, and presentable.
? Keep cleaning carts organized, fully stocked, and ready for daily use.
? Work independently and as part of a facilities team while maintaining a professional and positive attitude with students, staff, visitors, and coworkers.
? Follow safety procedures and Aramark standards to support a clean and healthy campus environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Required
? Ability to perform custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, or general cleaning duties consistently and safely.
? Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time for scheduled shifts.
? Ability to work assigned schedules, including some weekends.
? Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and perform physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
? Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and required PPE.
? Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
? Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members and customers.
Preferred
? 6+ months of housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, environmental services, hotel housekeeping, school cleaning, or facilities cleaning experience.
? Experience using vacuums, floor care equipment, cleaning carts, or commercial cleaning products.
? Experience cleaning schools, colleges, office buildings, healthcare facilities, hotels, or similar environments
