Lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure. Act as a technical expert and strategic advisor in planning and deploying enterprise-wide connectivity solutions. Mentor junior staff, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with business goals, cybersecurity standards, and operational best practices.
Lead network architecture planning and high-level design to support current and future business needs.
Design solutions that integrate security, performance, and disaster recovery requirements.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption paths to leadership.
Oversee configuration, deployment, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and WAN optimization tools.
Guide infrastructure upgrades and ensure proper documentation of network changes.
Own the development and maintenance of network standards, documentation, and procedures.
Use advanced monitoring tools to assess and tune network health, availability, and performance.
Required
Bachelors degree in network engineering, computer science, or related field required.
Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
Demonstrated experience with enterprise-grade hardware (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.)
Familiarity with SD-WAN, NAC, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
Proven experience with high-availability, fault-tolerant infrastructure design
Preferred
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent required or strongly preferred
Note:This is a Hybrid position working both remotely from the State of Michigan, and working in the Farm Bureau Home Office located in Lansing, Michigan (Onsite three days a week).
