- Provide engineering support within an integrated product team responsible for advising the Project Manager (PM) office on all technical aspects of the project lifecycle.
- Offer subject matter expertise in the planning, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and sustainment of complex technical systems.
- Support production engineering, engineering development, and continuous improvement activities.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of test data and support failure investigations to determine root causes and ensure the effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver technical briefings to government stakeholders, presenting findings from data analysis, failure investigations, and on-site assessments.
- Review, comment and provide disposition recommendations for engineering actions such as engineering change proposals and requests for waiver
- Review, comment and provide recommendations for contractor submissions such as but not limited to rework procedures, process control documents, defect notifications and critical defect control plans.
Test & Readiness Oversight
- Critically review and evaluate contractor-developed test plans, providing expert input for all phases of product quality and performance verification, to ensure comprehensive and rigorous testing.
- Preside over and contribute to government-led Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Build Readiness Reviews (BRRs), and Data Reviews to verify contractor readiness for testing, production, and final delivery.
- Act as the government's tank ammunition technical representative at test events, subsequently briefing stakeholders on the outcomes and implications of these events.
Contractor & Site Coordination
- Function as a technical liaison for monitoring and coordinating with contractor teams across various production and testing facilities.
- Ensure seamless and effective communication between government stakeholders and technical contractor personnel to maintain common goals and resolve technical challenges.
3. Required Travel for Oversight Activities
Up to 50% travel as necessary to witness and monitor the following key events at various contractor and government sites:
- Qualification Testing
- Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT)
- First Article Acceptance Testing (FAAT)
- Charge Establishment/Verification Tests
- Production Prove-Out Activities
- Failure Investigation Support
- Production Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Other mission requirements as assigned
4. Primary Deliverables
- Technical Evaluation Reports on engineering matters
- Analysis Reports for failure investigations and test data
- Technical briefing materials for stakeholder presentations
- Recommendations for Test Plan approvals
- Trip reports summarizing observations and findings from site visit
