Build New Medical OEM Business — Don't Just Manage It

Fisher Search Group is partnering exclusively with a 150+ year-old, family-owned global manufacturer and CDMO to identify an Account & Business Development Manager – Health to help accelerate growth across the East Coast.

This is not a traditional medical-device territory role.

The mandate is heavily weighted toward creating new OEM business — identifying opportunities early, engaging Engineering and R&D, navigating technical development and qualification, and ultimately converting those projects into long-term commercial programs.

The company is differentiated because it is more than a tape supplier. It combines advanced adhesive and tape technologies with precision converting and die-cutting capabilities, allowing it to participate more deeply in medical-device development and commercialization.

What You'll Own

  • Originate new medical-device OEM opportunities across the East Coast
  • Build relationships across Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Quality and Sourcing
  • Identify new customer applications and development programs
  • Manage complex opportunities from initial discovery through qualification and commercialization
  • Expand existing strategic accounts while maintaining a strong new-business focus
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Marketing and global resources
  • Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline and project management
  • Represent the company with customers, at industry events and at company facilities

The territory is approximately 75% new-business development / 25% existing account management.

Who Fits

The strongest candidates will bring:

  • Medical OEM/CDMO sales experience
  • Proven new-business origination, rather than primarily inherited-account management
  • Experience navigating complex, long product-development and commercialization cycles
  • Experience selling across Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Quality and Sourcing
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Comfort operating independently in an outbound, desk-to-field business-development environment

Experience with medical adhesives, tapes, converting, engineered components or contract manufacturing is highly relevant.

An engineering or technical background is preferred, but not mandatory. A particularly compelling profile is someone who began in engineering or another technical medical-device role and later moved into project management or commercial sales.

CDMO experience is an important requirement. The hiring team has found that conventional medical-device sales experience by itself does not necessarily translate to this environment.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

1. A Differentiated Platform

The company combines adhesive/tape technology and converting capabilities under one platform. That gives the commercial team the ability to solve broader OEM development challenges rather than simply sell a material.

The organization is also developing technologies across wearables, diagnostics and emerging medical applications — including tape incorporating embedded dry electrodes for cardiac monitoring.

2. Build With Real Infrastructure Behind You

Leadership has added inside-sales support and a technical sales engineer to the health team, while a broader five-year growth initiative is adding resources across commercial, production, manufacturing and supporting functions.

3. Stability Without a Rigid Corporate Ladder

The global parent has operated for more than 150 years and remains family-owned, while its U.S. organization serves multiple end markets and manufacturing platforms.

At the same time, the culture remains highly collaborative and entrepreneurial. Career development follows what leadership describes as a “creative ladder” — strong performers can grow into roles built around their capabilities rather than waiting for a predetermined position to open.

Location & Travel

This is a home-based East Coast role.

Candidates can live in a major East Coast market as long as they have convenient access to a commercial airport.

Expected travel is approximately 50%, including customer meetings, company facilities, conferences and occasional international travel.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $145,000–$170,000
  • Target incentive: 20% of base
  • Monthly incentive payouts
  • Target cash compensation: approximately $174,000–$204,000
  • Vehicle allowance: $500/month
  • Phone allowance: $100/month

The incentive structure incorporates sales and EBITDA objectives, with the potential to perform above target.

Benefits

  • Health, dental and vision coverage
  • Employee health contributions that have remained notably stable
  • 401(k) Safe Harbor plan with no vesting
  • Company match
  • 12 paid holidays
  • Three weeks of PTO
  • Short- and long-term disability
  • AD&D and life insurance
  • Weekly payroll

Interview Experience

The process is designed to assess how candidates actually operate, not how well they can manufacture interview answers:

  1. FSG qualification and scorecard interview
  2. Direct Teams interview with the hiring manager
  3. Teams interview with technical/business leaders
  4. Practical case or role-play exercise
  5. On-site finalist meeting with senior leadership

The practical component replaces the traditional generic 30/60/90-day presentation.
