Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding by program, funding source, and department.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
- Track grant expenditures and support funding reimbursements and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor restricted funds and ensure proper allocation and documentation of expenses.
- Maintain organized financial records and audit-ready supporting documentation.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
- Support ongoing improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for management and funding partners as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with grant accounting, fund accounting, nonprofit accounting, or other regulated funding environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative and evolving environment.
