Thrive In Dignity is seeking experienced and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide support as a Life Skills Mentor to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). We are not a facility and these services are 1-on-1 direct care which primarily involve enjoying activities out in the community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with IDD and other cognitive challenges. We proudly serve the entire Tr-Cities area which includes Greeneville, Johnson City, Jonesborough, Kingsport, Elizabethton, and Bristol.

Responsibilities:
- Coach, teach, and mentor individuals in home management, personal independence, individual rights, and self-advocacy.
- Advocate for each person’s needs and welfare in the home and community.
- Encourage community integration and participation by attending local events and exploring activities of interest to individuals supported.
- Support social skills development through engaging activities and communication exercises tailored to individual needs.
- Collect and document data on client progress, behavior patterns, and skill acquisition for ongoing assessment and reporting.
- Maintain positive relationships with family members, conservators, team members, and community partners.
- Treat each individual with dignity, respect, and person-centered support at all times.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and maintain accurate clock-ins/outs.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience supporting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
