Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Remote Position in Macon, GA

River Valley Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a full-time remote position. • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to evaluate their mental health status and establish their treatment needs.


• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each patient’s unique circumstances.


• Facilitate regular therapy sessions, providing both individual and group counseling, while employing culturally competent approaches to address the diverse needs of our clients.


• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.


• Offer referrals and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists or medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive care for patients with co-occurring disorders.


• Maintain adherence to ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and professional boundaries are upheld consistently across all interactions.

In this role, you will work with a varied patient population, addressing a spectrum of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders. • A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.


• Current state license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).


• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience providing mental health counseling to diverse populations.


• Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders and a breadth of understanding in evidence-based treatment modalities.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building rapport and trust with clients.


• Proficiency in using EHR systems and other necessary technology platforms for clinical practice.


• A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical practice standards.

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions, with an emphasis on culturally responsive and inclusive practices.


• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.


• Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic techniques and specialties, particularly around substance use disorders and trauma-informed care.
