Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including psychosocial evaluations and risk assessments, to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate closely with patients to develop customized therapy plans that consider personal goals, cultural backgrounds, and individual needs.
• Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), in various therapeutic contexts including individual, couple, family, and group therapy settings.
• Engage in crisis intervention and collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure a seamless continuum of care, particularly for clients in acute distress.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans, compliant with the clinic's policies and necessary regulatory guidelines.
• Empower clients and their families through psychoeducation, equipping them with skills to manage mental health challenges effectively.
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive treatment and support for clients.
• Monitor patient progress and conduct outcome assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, adjusting treatment methods as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date with current research and practices in mental health, integrating new knowledge into your practice to enhance service delivery.
• Adhere to professional ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at our center, you will primarily work with a diverse client base, many of whom have experienced significant trauma or adverse life events. Our clients come from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, requiring an understanding of culturally sensitive practices to effectively support their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• Strong ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds, fostering a therapeutic alliance that supports effective treatment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating proficiency in various therapeutic approaches.
• Experience in trauma-informed care and working with clients facing issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health disorders.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Compensation and Benefits
