Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to identify the mental health concerns of students, developing personalized treatment plans that are culturally sensitive and tailored to their unique challenges.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and, when appropriate, group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based techniques suited to the younger population.
• Collaborate actively with the school’s educational staff and a diverse treatment team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to coordinate care that promotes the academic and emotional well-being of students.
• Engage in regular consultations with parents and caregivers, providing them with vital support and education to enhance their involvement in the recovery process.
• Maintain meticulous records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with ethical guidelines and regulatory standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Utilize mental health software systems to track client progress, communicate with team members, and manage appointments efficiently.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily revolve around serving a diverse school population, including children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health challenges. You will provide care to students dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological issues, fostering an environment conducive to their overall personal and academic growth.

Qualifications

• Possess a current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Demonstrate specialized training or at least two years of extensive experience in mental health counseling, preferably within educational or child and adolescent settings.
• Exhibit a thorough understanding of evidence-based practices applicable to various mental health disorders affecting youth.
• Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust, motivating clients throughout their recovery journeys.
• Showcase strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective collaboration with fellow treatment team members.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a school setting or with child and adolescent populations is highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth systems and methodologies can greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role.
