Finance Manager

Onsite Finance Leadership Opportunity | Central Virginia

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and oversee financial planning, accounting operations, budgeting, reporting, compliance, risk management, and long-term financial strategy.

This is a full-time, onsite role with standard business hours, though part-time candidates may be considered. The ideal candidate is a steady, hands-on finance leader who enjoys supporting a collaborative, service-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term strategic and financial plans.

• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial close processes.

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses.

• Provide financial reporting and recommendations to leadership, board members, finance committees, and external partners.

• Coordinate annual audit activities, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.

• Manage internal controls, financial policies, insurance programs, and risk management functions.

• Lead, coach, and develop finance team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, processes, and technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant financial credential preferred.

• 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience.

• 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience.

• Experience preparing and presenting financial information to boards, committees, or senior leadership.

• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel; experience with enterprise accounting or financial reporting systems preferred.

• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$120,000 for full-time employment, with compensation adjusted for part-time schedule if applicable.
