<h1>Maintenance Manager – 1st Shift</h1><p><strong>ABR is recruiting for a 1st Shift Maintenance Manager for a great client in Central Wisconsin!</strong> This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance leader to take ownership of plant reliability, lead a skilled maintenance team, and play a key role in improving equipment performance and operational efficiency.</p><p><strong>Starting Salary: $85,000–$95,000/year + Full Benefits Package</strong></p><h3>What You'll Do</h3><p>As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the <strong>reliability, safety, and technical readiness of plant equipment, utilities, and facilities</strong>. You’ll lead day-to-day maintenance operations while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Sanitation, and Engineering to maximize uptime, minimize downtime, and support a safe, efficient production environment.</p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Lead maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and facilities.<li>Develop and continuously improve <strong>preventive and predictive maintenance programs</strong> to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.<li>Prioritize emergency repairs, planned maintenance, shutdowns, inspections, and reliability projects based on business needs and risk.<li>Monitor key maintenance KPIs, including downtime, PM completion, work orders, equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and spare parts inventory.<li>Lead <strong>root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives</strong> to eliminate recurring equipment issues.<li>Provide leadership, coaching, training, and accountability for maintenance technicians.<li>Partner with HR on staffing, employee development, performance management, attendance, and workforce planning.<li>Ensure employees and contractors are properly trained and qualified to perform their work safely.<li>Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with <strong>LOTO, confined space, hot work, fall protection, electrical safety, contractor safety, and other applicable programs</strong>.<li>Partner with Operations, Quality, Sanitation, and Engineering to coordinate repairs, projects, production priorities, and equipment improvements.<li>Ensure compliance with <strong>GMP, SQF, food safety, sanitation, hygienic maintenance, and foreign material prevention requirements</strong>.<li>Manage maintenance budgets, contractors, repair expenses, MRO inventory, and critical spare parts.<li>Support capital projects, equipment installations, commissioning, and facility improvement initiatives.<li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, work orders, and regulatory documentation.<li>Ensure effective communication, shift handoffs, issue escalation, and follow-through on maintenance and reliability initiatives.</ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><ul><li><strong>5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience</strong> in a manufacturing, food processing, dairy, or industrial environment.<li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.<li>Experience leading maintenance teams and managing contractors.<li>Strong knowledge of <strong>preventive/predictive maintenance, CMMS systems, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis</strong>.<li>Experience with food safety and regulatory environments is preferred.<li>Strong understanding of industrial <strong>mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and utility systems</strong>.<li>Knowledge of GMP, SQF, food safety, and hygienic maintenance practices.<li>Strong leadership and employee development skills.<li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.<li>Ability to analyze maintenance data, prioritize resources, and make sound operational decisions.<li>Proficiency with maintenance software, work-order management systems, and budget tracking.</ul><h3>Why Consider This Opportunity?</h3><p>This is a great opportunity for a <strong>hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys solving problems, developing people, and improving the reliability of a manufacturing operation</strong>.
