POSITION OVERVIEW – WMS Business Systems Analyst- The main function of a business systems analyst is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for WMS issues, including errors, data discrepancies, and system/interface failures.
Troubleshoot integrations between the WMS and ERP, TMS, EDI, RF/scanning hardware, and other systems.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify recurring issues before they impact warehouse operations.
Support and lead new WMS and warehouse system implementations, partnering with Project Managers, IT, and other stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into WMS functionality and configure workflows for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
Diagnose system configuration and integration issues, test software modifications, and escalate complex issues to IT or software vendors when needed.
Navigate WMS modules and interfaces to support inventory tracking, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
Maintain documentation of known issues, workarounds, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Create and update SOPs, process documentation, and quick-reference guides.
Train warehouse staff and supervisors on WMS functionality, processes, and best practices.
Gather business requirements and work with technical teams to improve and automate existing processes.
Analyze system capabilities, workflows, and operational requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, a technical field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Business Systems Analysis, Project Management, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with WMS and SAP or similar ERP/business systems.
Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, particularly in a systems-focused role.
Strong experience troubleshooting system errors, data issues, integrations, and operational problems.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure during live operational issues.
Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into system/process requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with WMS implementations, configuration, or system integrations.
Experience with EDI, TMS, RF/scanning systems, or warehouse automation.
Experience in Telecom, High Tech, Consumer Electronics, or a similar industry.
Experience creating SOPs, training materials, and user documentation.
