ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A growing Scottsdale-based organization is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to own the day-to-day finance function while also providing forward-looking financial analysis and strategic support to leadership.

This role combines controllership, FP&A, reporting, process improvement, and business partnership in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

The Finance Manager will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain strong controls and scalable processes, and translate financial and operational data into clear insights that support growth, profitability, cash generation, and sound business decisions.

Work Arrangement: Primarily in-office in Scottsdale, with some flexible remote hours depending on business need.

Travel: No travel expected.

Direct Report: Bookkeeper.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Controllership & Close

• Own day-to-day finance operations, including bookkeeping oversight, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting under U.S. GAAP and strong internal controls.

• Manage month-end close activities and coordinate tax filing preparation with external tax advisors.

Planning, Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare and explain monthly financial results, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, and key business drivers.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, translating operational assumptions into credible financial projections.

• Develop practical financial and operational KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting to improve visibility and accountability.

Business Partnering

• Serve as a finance business partner to leadership, providing decision support, scenario analysis, and recommendations that improve growth, profitability, and cash generation.

• Partner with commercial and operational leaders on pricing, channel economics, inventory and supply planning, cost management, and capital investments.

Controls & Scale

• Establish scalable finance processes and controls for a growing business, identifying automation and continuous-improvement opportunities.

• Assess finance resource needs and help design the longer-term finance structure as the organization grows.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including controllership responsibility.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

• Experience supporting a standalone business unit or growth-stage, entrepreneurial environment.

• Experience with inventory or supply handling and related financial planning.

• Demonstrated ability to translate financial and operational data into clear insights and actions for senior leaders.

• Comfort operating hands-on while building scalable processes and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and business intelligence tools.

• Excellent communication, judgment, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to balance attention to detail with a commercial, strategic, and pragmatic mindset.

Preferred

• Experience with post-acquisition integration, transformation initiatives, ERP implementations, or process redesign.

• Hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
