Accounting Manager

Connect Search is partnering with a stable, family-owned marine construction company experiencing significant growth, to add a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to its Galveston accounting team. This is a newly created role due to growth and an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be more than a traditional accountant. You'll serve as a right hand to the Controller, gain exposure across multiple areas of the business, and play an important role in continuing to modernize and improve the accounting function.

What they're looking for:

• Strong general ledger, journal entry and month-end close experience
• Deep understanding of GAAP
• Fixed asset accounting experience
• xevrcyc Advanced Excel skills — PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation; macros a plus
• Proven track record of automating manual processes
• Ability to problem-solve and bring new ideas to the table
• Leadership experience is a plus, but they're open to a strong Senior Accountant ready for the next step
• A proactive, adaptable personality who enjoys wearing different hats
