Position Summary

Quality Tube USA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead and support our Mechanical Maintenance team at our Midlothian, Texas manufacturing facility.

The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee mechanical maintenance activities during production, ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position will supervise Mechanical Technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to equipment failures, and work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, maintenance experience, and the ability to lead and develop a maintenance team in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and support Mechanical Technicians.
  • Coordinate and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure safe, immediate, and effective response to mechanical equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with identifying root causes and effective repairs.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor maintenance work based on work orders and production priorities.
  • Conduct and coordinate equipment inspections to identify potential issues before they result in unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts, materials, tools, equipment, and personnel needed to complete maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation.
  • Work closely with Production to minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations on equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel.
  • Evaluate team performance and promote accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising a mechanical maintenance team in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with work order management and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours based on production and maintenance needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in steel manufacturing, tube/pipe manufacturing, ERW, metal fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with industrial automation and production equipment.
  • Experience with equipment reliability and downtime reduction.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or quality management systems.
