Field Recruiter - Fairfax County Part-Time Community Field Recruiter Location: Fairfax County, VA Part-Time | Approximately 5 Hours Per Day | Monday-Friday $20.00-$21.00 per hour + Mileage Reimbursement Are You the Person Who Talks to Everyone? Do you naturally strike up conversations with people in line at the coffee shop, at community events, or while you're out running errands? Are you comfortable walking into a local business, senior center, library, or community organization, introducing yourself, and starting a conversation? That's the kind of recruiter we're looking for. All City Management Services (ACMS) is looking for an energetic, personable Community Field Recruiter to get out into Fairfax County, meet people, build relationships, and spread the word about opportunities to become a School Crossing Guard. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk recruiting position. While there are administrative and applicant follow-up responsibilities, the heart of this role is being out in the community, talking to people and making connections. If you're outgoing, approachable, resourceful, and aren't afraid to start a conversation with someone you've never met, we want to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing Get Out Into the Community Spend time throughout Fairfax County identifying places and opportunities to connect with potential School Crossing Guards. Start Conversations Talk with people at community events, libraries, local businesses, senior centers, community organizations, and other gathering places. You'll need to be comfortable introducing yourself and explaining why becoming a Crossing Guard is a great way to serve the community. Spread the Word Find creative ways to get our hiring message in front of local residents. Distribute recruiting materials, develop community contacts, attend events, and look for new outreach opportunities. Build Community Relationships Develop genuine connections with organizations and individuals who can help us reach people interested in giving back to their community. Find Our Next Crossing Guards Talk with prospective candidates, answer questions, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and help guide qualified candidates through the recruiting process. Represent ACMS at Hiring Events Help organize and attend open interviews, job fairs, community events, and other local recruiting activities. Keep Things Organized Document your outreach and candidate activity, maintain accurate recruiting records, complete required paperwork, and communicate regularly with the National Recruiting Manager and local Operations team. You Might Be a Great Fit If... * You're outgoing and genuinely enjoy meeting new people * You're comfortable approaching people and starting conversations * You have the confidence to walk into a community organization or business and introduce yourself * You're friendly, enthusiastic, and able to connect with people from many different backgrounds * You don't wait for people to come to you—you enjoy getting out there and finding them * You're creative and willing to try new approaches when traditional recruiting isn't working * You're self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field * You're organized enough to balance community outreach with applicant follow-up and administrative responsibilities * You have solid computer skills and are comfortable learning recruiting systems Experience in community outreach, sales, hospitality, customer service, event promotion, recruiting, staffing, or other people-focused roles is helpful. Traditional recruiting experience is not required. Bilingual skills are needed. Must reside in Fairfax County, VA.
