Mechanical Draftsman

Lead role in the mechanical design aspects for new projects including design and modeling for new applications. Provide technical guidance on existing projects.

Summary of essential job functions

· Analyze existing drawings and supporting documentation for use in pending Customer proposals.

· Create new drawings/designs based upon pre-existing products or based upon Customer requests/specifications and/or engineering specifications.

· Prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for direct submittal to Customers.

· Project order entry, scheduling, bill of materials generation, production job packets, and component / raw material purchasing.

Minimum requirements

· 2-year associate degree or technical certificate in drafting/mechanical design or directly related field.

· Understanding of mechanical processes, tolerances, IDs etc.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Abilities required

· Proficiency in SolidWorks 2010 or higher

· Part creation, assembly, detail drawings, bill of materials and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

· Strong MS Office skills

· Extensive knowledge of materials with a strong emphasis on ceramic and metal properties

· Must be detail oriented.

· Travel required
