Water Resources Engineer

M3 Engineering Group is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing St. Louis office. This is a technical role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, working independently, and having a meaningful role in project delivery. You will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of water resources and civil engineering projects, with an emphasis on work for public agencies and utilities.

What You’ll Do

At M3, our engineers are involved in projects from beginning to end. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and take ownership of work including:

• Sanitary sewer and force main planning and design
• Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Streambank stabilization and stream restoration
• Stormwater and drainage studies and design
• Floodplain analysis and flood mitigation
• Prepare plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and other technical deliverables
• Permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies
• Apply engineering judgment to solve project-specific design and technical challenges
• Field investigations and site visits

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take ownership of technical assignments while working closely with project managers, clients, and other members of the M3 team. Basic requirements include:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Missouri PE license, or the ability to obtain one
• Illinois PE licensure is a plus
• A background in civil or water resources design with experience delivering civil or water resources projects through multiple phases of design and implementation
• The ability to work independently, organize priorities, and take ownership of assignments while knowing when to collaborate and ask questions
• Willingness to tackle new challenges on a variety of projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong experience with design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, WaterCAD
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for project-related activities

The St. Louis Office

M3's St. Louis office is located in Downtown St. Louis in the vibrant Washington Avenue business corridor, in the historic Lammert Building.

Our team works primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely as needed. Most projects are local, with travel generally taking place during regular business hours. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
