Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP)

We are seeking a qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and substance-use-disorder treatment in an outpatient behavioral health setting. The NP will provide services to patients receiving OMHC treatment as well as individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD), including methadone and buprenorphine/Suboxone.

Primary Responsibilities
 Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance-use assessments.
 Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders within the NP's scope of practice.
 Provide psychiatric medication management and follow-up.
 Evaluate patients for opioid use disorder and other substance-use disorders.
 Initiate and manage buprenorphine/Suboxone treatment when clinically
appropriate.
 Initiate and manage methadone in the medical management of patients receiving
methadone through an OTP.
 Monitor response to treatment, side effects, adherence, and potential medication
interactions.
 Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
 Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the
behavioral-health team.
 Coordinate care with therapists, counselors, case managers, primary-care
providers, and other healthcare professionals.
 Provide appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record.
 Participate in treatment-plan reviews and interdisciplinary case conferences.
 Assess suicide risk, withdrawal symptoms, intoxication, and other acute
psychiatric/substance-use concerns.
 Refer patients for a higher level of care, emergency evaluation, detoxification, or
hospitalization when clinically indicated.
 Provide patient education regarding psychiatric medications, methadone,
buprenorphine/Suboxone, overdose prevention, and recovery.
 Maintain compliance with applicable Maryland regulations, OTP requirements,
DEA requirements, and organizational policies.
